The National Park of Alejandro de Humboldt (Spanish: Parque Nacional Alejandro de Humboldt) is located in the Cuban provinces of Holguin and Guantánamo. It was named after Alexander von Humboldt, a German scientist who visited the island in 1800 and 1801. Because of its size, height range, complicated lithology, landform diversity, and wealth of indigenous flora and wildlife, the park was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.
